From ceremony to reception, the beautiful Town Hall is the perfect place to host your special day.
Licensed to hold civil wedding ceremonies, with elegant character rooms in varying sizes, the Town Hall is ideal for weddings large and small.
After the ceremony, you can simply move into another room and let the celebrations continue with a wedding reception to remember.
With everything you need under one roof, from professional catering facilities, sound systems, stages and PA, we’re here to make it a magical day, and to keep everything stress free.
Types of Ceremony
Whichever type of ceremony you’re planning, marriage, civil partnership, renewal of vows or a naming ceremony, we’d be delighted to host your special event.
We’re licensed to hold civil, non-religious ceremonies. This means you’re very welcome to include music, readings, words or performances as part of your ceremony, so long as they are of a secular, non-religious nature. The content of the ceremony will need to be agreed in advance with the Superintendent Registrar.
Please note, while we’re here to do everything we can to help, some elements can only be done by you – such as ensuring the legal wedding preliminaries are complete, or that the Registration Officers are available to conduct your ceremony (see ‘The legal bit’ below). Please don’t forget these essential elements.

The Legal Bit
To hold your wedding or civil ceremony in the Town Hall, you’ll need two Registration Officers, who can usually be booked up to 12 months prior to your wedding.
You can book your Registration Officers by visiting Newbury Register Office, Shaw House, Church Road, Newbury, Berkshire, RG14 2DR, or calling 01635 279230.
DON’T FORGET The Registration Officers are the most important people to attend, after yourselves of course, as your wedding can’t take place without them.
