🎉 Hocktide Luncheon 2026 🎉
Join us for one of Hungerford’s most cherished traditions — the Hocktide Luncheon on Tuesday 14th April 2026.
This year we are delighted to welcome Ingrid Seward, renowned British royal biographer, author, and editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, as our guest speaker. With her fascinating insights into the Royal Family, this promises to be a truly memorable occasion.
🎟 Tickets are now on sale and available from Crown Needlework, 115 High Street, Hungerford, or by calling 01488 684011.
Don’t miss the chance to be part of this historic Hungerford celebration — tickets are expected to sell quickly!

There’s something quietly magical happening on Hungerford Common right now… 🌳✨
If you look closely at the treeline, you’ll spot it — those beautiful reds and copper tones starting to glow through the branches. That soft blush of new growth is slowly waking the Common up from winter, and it’s such a lovely reminder that spring is on its way.
Against the fresh green grass and grey skies (have they really moved on and changed to blue?), those warm colours really stand out — subtle, but full of promise.
Next time you’re out for a dog walk, on the school run, or just needing a breath of fresh air, take a moment to look up at the canopy.
The seasons are changing right before our eyes. 🍃

✨ Did you know…?
🌱 Crocuses are one of the very first signs of spring — often blooming in the UK as early as January or February.
❄️ They’re tough little things and can push through frost… even snow!
💜 There are over 90 different species in the Crocus family, in shades of purple, white, lilac and golden yellow.
There are many more facts about these little purple beauties! Let us know if you know anymore!

Highways have closed the road from The Downgate, over the common, through lower Denford along to the A4.
After speaking with the contractors, they are resurfacing the top layer of the road.
We expect the road to be closed for the majority of the day.
More news and updates when we have them!
